“The Place To Stay For Family Fun”

Celebrating 50 Years in 2019!

Wawaloam, named after a Nipmuck Native American Princess, is truly a family affair. In 1969, Jim and Maureen Smith began their dream of running a successful vacation destination for campers visiting the Southern New England area. Nearly fifty years and three generations later, Wawaloam has become a favorite place for campers of all ages.

Families love the fact that Wawaloam includes 3 children in our base rate. Isn’t that what family camping is all about? Wawaloam also welcomes well-behaved pets for a small fee of $5 per night. After all, we’re animal lovers, too! Everyone is encouraged to participate in the various activities Wawaloam has to offer: from crafts to dances, movies to mini golf, Wawaloam has activities for everyone in your family. Wawaloam has become famous for our Friday night dinner and Sunday morning breakfast menus. Our head chef Jim uses local produce and seafood right off the boat in Galilee! Wawaloam has the most spacious sites around and we’re top-rated in the Good Sam Directory and on TripAdvisor. We take pride in our campground and it shows!

If you’ve never experienced Wawaloam, isn’t it time?

“We never get to come as often, or stay as long as we’d like, but our time at Wawaloam is something we look forward to all year. We just want to remind you that all of your hard work and efforts still show. Wawaloam is – and probably always will be – our favorite campground, for so many reasons. Again, we just want to thank you and your staff.”

Wawaloam Campground is home of HYDRO-FURY Waterslides!

Our giant waterslide boasts a total of 287 feet of twisting fun! One flume is totally enclosed like a tube. The other slide is open. Both flumes dump riders into a huge 900 square foot splash down pool. HYDRO-FURY is open exclusively to our campers. The general public is not admitted to ride HYDRO-FURY. This gives our campers the best opportunity to fully experience this awesome attraction without long lines or overcrowding.
